Schering-Plough Vaccines. Canine Distemper Vaccine, Modified Live Virus. Active Ingredient(s): Canine distemper vaccine, modified live virus. The vaccine contains gentamicin as a preservative. Indications: For use in the vaccination of healthy dogs nine weeks of age or older against canine distemper. Do not vaccinate pregnant bitches. Dosage and Administration: Transfer the contents of the sterile diluent vial to the Galaxy D vial aseptically. Mix gently until dissolved. Use the entire contents immediately after rehydration. Inject one (1) dose (1 mL) subcutaneously or intramuscularly and repeat at two (2) to three (3) week intervals until the dog is 18 weeks of age. A minimum of two (2) doses are required for primary immunization. Annual revaccination with one (1) dose is recommended. Precaution(s): Store between 2° and 7°C. Caution(s): 1. Do not chemically sterilize needles and syringes.  2. Do not mix with other vaccines.  3. The use of any biologic may produce an anaphylactic reaction.  4. Burn the vaccine container and all the unused contents. Dispose of all the contents in a proper manner.  5. For use in dogs only.  6. For veterinary use only.  Antidote(s): Epinephrine.  Presentation: 25 - 1 dose vials of Galaxy D, and 25 - 1 dose vials of sterile diluent.
